Bridging Cultures

Celebrating Indigenous Heritage

The Bridging Cultures initiative was a series of free public events designed to foster meaningful connection, learning, and cultural exchange by centering Indigenous knowledge, artistic practice, and lived experience. Through exhibitions, workshops, cultural demonstrations, and storytelling, the series created accessible opportunities for audiences to engage directly with Indigenous artists, Elders, and community members. Each event emphasized relationship building, respect for cultural protocols, and learning through participation rather than observation. Collectively, the initiative increased access to Indigenous cultural education, expanded community reach, and supported deeper understanding of the land, its histories, and its peoples, contributing to ongoing community connection and reconciliation efforts. This series was made possible through the support of the Government of Alberta Ethnocultural Grant Program.
